Petitions spread amongst Kachins The Kachin Post / July 03, 2009 A numbers of online petitions have been posted by a group of Kachins who believed to be opposed the Border Security Force, urging Kachin to sign the petition against the wills of Burmese junta and demanding to resign some leaders of Kachin Independence Organization (KIO).
A total of three petitions have been posted at www.ipetitions.com, regarding to oppose the Burmese plans of transforming Kachin Independence Army (KIA) into a battalion of Border Guard Force, to resign KIO top leaders Gauri Zau Seng and Dr. Tu Ja, and accusing New Democratic Army-Kachin (NDA-K) Zahkung Ting Ying of recently collaborating with junta by accepting its army to transform Border Guard Force.

The Kachin Affairs Forum based in United States of America urges Kachins to support by signing petition against Burmese military junta's plan of transforming Kachin Independence Army into Border Guard Force.
An unknown group who called themselves as the opposition to political leaders who lies to public, demands to resign KIO leaders Gauri Zau Seng and Dr. Tu Ja from their position, accusing them of initiating to change the name of KIO and KIA to Kachin Progressive Party and Kachin State Defense Force, according to the petition letter.
Another petition created by Mung Shawa declares that Zahkung Ting Ying led New Democratic Army-Kachin is no longer political organization which represents Kachins due to the NDA-K’s submission to transform Border Guard Force under Burma Army.
The Border Guard Force plan was proposed by Burmese Junta to all ethnic cease-fire groups since May 2009, and intends to transform all ethnic armies to Border Guard Force before end of 2009.
Pang Wa headquartered New Democratic Army-Kachin, Gwi Htu based Lasang Awng Wa militia group and Kachin Defense Army from Northern Shan State already succumbed their armies into Border Guard Force.
Only the Kachin Independence Army has resisted transforming Border Guard Force and the leaders of the organizations has continued discussing with Burma Army.
