Burma Army has filed legal action against Kachin Christian leader yesterday, mounting up persecution against the country’s minority Kachin Christian.
Lt. Colonel Than Htike of Burma Army’s Northern Command has filed a complaint against the Chairman of Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC) Dr. Rev. Hkalam Samson, regarding the meeting with U.S President Donald Trump and the KBC leader last month in the White House, according to the court documents circulating in the social media network. The document labelled the incident as “extra ordinary” case.
During the meeting with President Trump, Dr. Samson expressed the worsening situation of religious persecution against Christians committed by Burma Army in Kachin and Shan States as well as welcoming the U.S sanction against Burma Army’s top Generals.
In July 2019, Rev. Samson was the one of the invitees of U.S President Donald Trump in the Oval Office along with other international religious leaders. Rev. Samson also attended the International Religious Freedom Conference which was hosted by the U.S Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. He safely returned back to Burma in August, 2019.
