Central Committee of Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) has given honour to ONE dual-title World Champion Aung La Nsang for promoting Kachin prestige internationally.
Aung La has raised again the Kachinland and Kachin people’s pride and prestige by conquering ONE Heavyweight Champion Brandon Vera and retain his Light Heavyweight Champion title intact, said in the KIO’s honorary certificate issued on Sunday.
However, Aung La hasn’t received any cash price for this Sunday victory from KIO. The insurgent organization used to prize Aung La for previous wins in ONE Championship. Aung La received up to twenty million Kyats (US $13,000) from KIO a couple times. As well as, Burma Army gave ten million Kyats (US $6,540) each for Aung La’s previous two debuts.
Aung La, who is ethnically Kachin from Burma, made his professional debut in 2005 and built a reputation for his outstanding submission skills to earn himself the nickname of “The Burmese Python”
In June 2017, Aung La became ONE Middleweight World Champion by defeating Vitaly Bigdash, hailing the country’s first-ever World Champion in Mix Martial Art. In 2018, Aung La claimed ONE Light Heavyweight Champion by defeating Alexandre Machado and later defended his Middleweight Champion belt for the first time by knocking out Ken Hasegawa.
